POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - More than 50 pieces of office furniture were donated by Commerce Bank to the Poplar Bluff Public Schools.
The furniture became available from a recent consolidation.
According to school officials, this is not the first time the district received a major furniture donation from Commerce Bank.
The items donated include tables, chairs, desks, shelves and cabinets.
"We truly have a strong commitment to the communities we serve, specifically the education system," said Richard Landers III, the community bank president of Commerce Bank in Poplar Bluff. "We wanted to give something of value and knew this would be timely, with all the construction going on."
Landers, as well as his wife Claire and their three grown children Katy, Sam and Molly, are Poplar Bluff R-1 alumni.
