Watch out for standing water, T-storms could continue

Weather Outlook:
Residents across the Heartland are dealing with flash flooding and damage left behind by storms overnight. It appears a tornado touched down in near Kelso. And flash flood warnings were in effect for most of western Kentucky, and Pope County, IL. There remains a chance for rain throughout the day. Click here for the full First Alert Forecast to find out when we'll dry out.

Making Headlines:

Washed out roads: Rescue crews were called out to help a driver swept off a road by floodwater in rural Cape Girardeau County.

Officer Involved Shooting: A 16-year-old is facing attempted murder charges after getting in a gunfire exchange with a Mounds, Ill. police officer.

Person in the river: A man is in police custody after reportedly acting suspicious near the casino in Cape Girardeau and then jumping into the Mississippi River.

Removing the flag: After a 13-hour debate, lawmakers in South Carolina approved a bill to remove the Confederate flag from the Capitol grounds.
