Paducah traffic signal back in service after flooding causes outage

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

The traffic signal on U.S. 60 at I-24 Exit 4 in Paducah, Kentucky is back in service and traffic flow has returned to normal.

According to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the traffic signal was out at the end of the eastbound exit and entry ramps. This is used to get to and from the mall. Todd said the controller cabinet for the signal just west of I-24 on U.S. 60 flooded.

According to Todd, crews placed four-way stop signs at the intersection. This caused a traffic back up in the area along U.S. 60 and for eastbound I-24 traffic exiting to U.S. 60 at this location.

Once the water receded and the cabinet dried out, Todd said crews were back at the site to make appropriate repairs to the controller.
