Pemiscot Co. police arrest one, seeking another in connection with robbery

STEELE, MO (KFVS) -

Steele, MO Chief of Police Billy Joe Stanfield reports his department investigated a robbery and assault which occurred during the late night hours on Tuesday, June 30.

The victim, a 37 year old man from Steele, was walking on North First Street when he was attacked by two men. 

The two men struck the victim on his head knocking him to the ground and continued to beat him.

The two then robbed the victim of his cell phone and money.

During the investigation the two suspects were identified as Sherman Houston , 24, and Marquel Lawless, 21,  both of Steele.

Chief Stanfield filed reports/charges on Houston and Lawless with the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney.

Warrants were subsequently issued charging both men with first degree robbery.

Sherman Houston was located and was incarcerated in the Pemiscot County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Law enforcement is currently seeking Marquel Lawless.
