Cape Girardeau city council approves recommendation to continue air service

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - More round-trip flights could be coming in and out of Cape Regional Airport if the U.S. Department of Transportation signs off on a new two-year contract for Cape Air Airlines.

On Monday night, July 6 the Cape Girardeau City Council voted and approved the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport Board recommendation to continue air service with Cape Air.

This is a two-year contract. The current one expires in November.

The Department of Transportation gets final approval of the contract. The new deal would add four round-trip flights to St. Louis per week.
