HAYTI, MO (KFVS) -

A Hayti, Missouri animal shelter is looking for information on a dog found running around a Caruthersville, Mo. Walmart on June 30.

According to CHS-PAWS, lab/great dane mix is six to eight months old and weighs around 30 pounds, about half of his expected body weight. They call him "Wally."

"We began receiving reports of the dog being sighted late on the 29th of June and it was reported to the city animal control," Karol Wilcox, CHS-PAWS president, said. "We believe he was dumped in that area sometime in the last 48 hours because that is when we began to receive calls."

Wilcox said Wally has previous injuries and had a "horrible existence."

"We are hoping Wall will make a full recovery, but he has a long road ahead of him," she said. "We know he is started on a better path for now."

Anyone with possible information about the owner of the dog can call the shelter at 573-359-0113.
