ST. LOUIS (KFVS) -

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety reports the arrest of the second suspect from the June 6 murder of Tyrussell Davis.

On June 6, 2015, around 11:10 p.m., Sikeston officers responded to Lee and Welter Streets in Sikeston in reference to two subjects who had been shot.

When officers arrived they found Tyrussell Davis shot to death in the vehicle and another subject shot and bleeding in a nearby field.

The initial investigation led police to the St. Louis area where they arrested Tyler Triplett.

Triplett was later charged for his alleged part in this murder and assault.

After Triplett was arrested, police began looking for the second suspect.

Kelvin Knight, 22, of St. Louis, was also charged with the murder of Tyrussell Davis and was being sought by police.

After three weeks of being in hiding Sikeston DPS learned that Kelvin Knight was arrested Wednesday.

Police were told Knight was taken into custody in the St. Louis area by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.

Specific details of the arrest are unknown.

Knight was in custody as of Wednesday, awaiting his arraignment.
