Carbondale teachers vote 'no confidence' in district superintendent

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The Carbondale Education Association voted to pass a resolution of no confidence in the elementary school superintendent on May 29.

According to the association, the resolution passed with an 86 percent vote.

Michael Shimshak is currently the superintendent of Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95.

They say his actions that caused the resolution include "the introduction of new programs with no goals, no vision and no plan of implementation, top down management, lack of trust, divisive leadership style, violation of special education laws and frivolous expenditures."

Shimsak became superintendent  of district 95 in July 2011 after resigning from his position as superintendent in Lodi, Wisconsin in January of the same year.
