Convicted killer loses appeal

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A man convicted of a triple murder in Cape Girardeau appealed his conviction, but the state appeals court ruled against him and his claim of having a bad lawyer.

Ryan Patterson was convicted in the deaths of Jamie Orman, her son Derrick, and her unborn child in 2011.

He appealed that conviction, but an appeals court ruled the conviction was fair.

Patterson is serving life without parole.
