CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Illinois Humanities have announced that the Science Center of Southern Illinois in Carbondale will host
a new Museum on Main Street exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution.The exhibit examines the monumental significance of water in the human experience from a wide range of perspectives.
The exhibit will be displayed at The Science Center, located in University Mall, from December 10, 2016 through January 22, 2017.
"We're eagerly looking forward to working with our friends in Carbondale to present this intriguing exhibit," said Matt Meacham, a program coordinator with Illinois Humanities.
"Their remarkable, interactive river model exhibit will enable people of all ages to learn, through first-hand experience, about the functioning of rivers and their watersheds. Their other companion exhibits and programs will demonstrate how and why the functioning of rivers and their watersheds has been so vital to the lives of southern Illinoisan's over the years, " Meacham added.
Further information about the Science Center of Southern Illinois's plans for the
exhibit and activities associated with it will be available in the coming months.
