Sikeston, MO man accused of statutory sodomy involving 12 year old

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Sikeston, Missouri man is accused of statutory sodomy involving a 12 year old.

Zachary Caleb Neal, 23, was charged with statutory sodomy in the first degree and enticement of a child. His bond was set at $50,000.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, Neal allegedly met the 12 year old victim through a social media website. He said sexual conversations via the internet eventually led to Neal meeting the victim at the victim's home.

He said Neal had sexual contact with the 12 year old.

Sheriff Walter said contact between Neal and the 12 year old continued until a family member of the child discovered the correspondence between the two.

Neal was interviewed by an investigator on Friday after, June 26 and admitted to the sexual contacts.

    A 19-year-old of Carbondale, Illinois has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
