Street Machine Nationals at Du Quoin Fairgrounds

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

It's the weekend that car lovers have been waiting for, the Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, Illinois.

Dozens of cars, from hot rods to street cars, showed up on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

Hundreds of cars have descended on the park grounds. Two cars even came from Australia, so there were cars literally from everywhere.

One man we talked to said he's been going there for years, and he doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

"It's kind of a family tradition thing," Rico Riggio, of Du Quoin, said. "It's about the only thing me and my family made sure we did every year. Me and my dad always came, and I got a little boy who's going to be a year old real soon and I want to pass that tradition on to him."

The car show will be going on Saturday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
