US 641 reopened at mile marker 2 after gas leak

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports U.S. 641 in Crittenden County is back open after a gas leak.

According to KYTC, at about 8 a.m., KYTC Crittenden County highway maintenance crew was removing a concrete header wall from a cross drain near the 2 mile marker along U.S. 641 when they hit an ATMOS Energy gas line.

KYTC said the work was in preparation for repair or replacement of the cross drain.

The road was closed and ATMOS Energy was immediately contacted to start repairs.

The closure was at mile marker two between Lilly Dale Road and Sulphur Springs Road near the Mott City and Crayne communities.

According to KYTC, all lanes are now open.
