Desloge man accused of stealing copper

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Desloge man is accused of stealing or attempting to steal copper wire from two businesses.

James E. Mahurin, 42, of Desloge, is charged with Class C felony burglary 2nd, steal wire/electrical transformer and two counts of Class D felony property, attempted to steal wire/electrical transformer, and Class B misdemeanor trespass 1st degree.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office received a report of the copper wire stolen from the buildings at the former Keifer Lumber Supply building in Friendly Valley on Hwy 51 south on June 8. 

The sheriff's office received a report of a similar attempt at Ready Mix Concrete on Hwy 51 South, approximately one mile north of the Keifer Lumber Supply.

Mahurin was being held at the Perry County Jail on $15,000 cash only bond.
