Bertrand, MO man accused of breaking teen's jaw for standing in his yard

BERTRAND, MO (KFVS) -

A Bertrand, Missouri man is accused of breaking a teen's jaw because the teen was standing in his yard.

Charles Lewis Aycock, 48, was charged with assault in the second degree.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began on Saturday afternoon when a deputy was dispatched to help the Bertrand Police Department with a domestic disturbance in Bertrand, Mo.

Sheriff Moore said Aycock allegedly assaulted the victim, a local teen, who had already left to get medical attention for a broken jaw because the teen was standing in his yard.

Based on the statements from the victim and an eyewitness, Aycock was arrested and taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Sheriff Moore said he was released from custody on Sunday evening after posting a $25,000 surety bond.
