Heat advisories for parts of Heartland, keep weather app handy

Weather Outlook:

Don't expect a break from the heat today. Brian Alworth is predicting another hot and humid day, with a heat index of 101. Parts of the Bootheel and Tennessee are under heat advisories. State of Emergency: At least seven people were injured as severe thunderstorms that swept across northern Illinois spawned a tornado, damaged homes and uprooted trees. Gov. Rauner activated a State of Emergency out of Springfield early Tuesday morning.

No more booze: The Carbondale, Illinois city commission voted to not renew the liquor license for the Pony Cabaret and Steakhouse.

On the loose: Have you seen this man? The Cape Girardeau Sheriff's Office is searching for David P. Rains, who failed to appear in court for several felony charges. He is known to be violent.
