FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Illinois State Police is investigating the death of a Christopher man.

Police were called around 4 a.m. Sunday morning to a home on Egyptian Drive for a person needing psychiatric evaluation.

After authorities secured the area, Steven C. Berkley, 51, was taken to the hospital where he died an hour later.

The final cause of death will not be released until toxicology reports are completed. That could take four to six weeks.
