Giant City State Park holding Wild Plant Hike, free to public

MAKANDA, IL (KFVS) - The Wild Plant Hike on the 1 mile Giant City Nature Trail at Giant City State Park on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is free and open to the public.

Abel Kinser, a John A. Logan Biology instructor and plant enthusiast, will lead the hike.

Kinser has taught science in Southern Illinois for the last eleven years and has been exploring Giant City State Park, the home to hundreds of species of plants, for decades.

No reservations are required. The group will meet at the Giant City Visitor Center at 10 a.m.
