Grab the umbrella and even the rain boots because it is going to be a soggy day. Brian Alworth is tracking rain showers as they move through the Heartland. Flooding continues to be the concern across the area.

A look at what is making headlines:

Threat of floods: Warnings and watches have been issued across the Heartland. The flood gates have been closed on Broadway and Themis Street in Cape Girardeau. Click here to find out what you can expect in your area.

Shooting suspect to appear in court: The 21-year-old man accused of shooting nine people at a historic downtown Charleston church is expected to have a bond hearing on Friday, and will be charged with nine counts of murder.

Fire: Crews are on the scene of a house fire near the Jefferson County fairgrounds in Mt. Vernon.

Bugs and more bugs: As if the rain and flooding aren't bad enough, Missouri is now seeing an increase in mosquitoes, drawn by all the water.
