All lanes of I-57 reopened after semi crash

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

All lanes of I-57 northbound at mile post 58 have reopened to normal traffic flow.

According to Illinois State Police, a semi pulling a double bottom trailer struck a guard rail in a construction zone in that area.

Police say preliminary investigations show Bunker Hill, Ill. resident Gary Franklin, 64, was driving the semi at the time of the incident.

The semi was removed. However, the guardrail received significant damage.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the guardrail had to be repaired before both lanes can be reopened.

Franklin was given a ticket for improper lane usage.
