Church shooting: A white man opened fire during a prayer meeting inside a historic black church in downtown Charleston on Wednesday night, killing nine people, including the pastor.

Flooding Concerns: Rivers like the Mississippi are on the rise. In Cape Girardeau, the Mississippi river is expected to crest in the range of a major flooding stage at 43.5 feet by June 23.

Be Water Aware: More than 40,000 swimmers across the country will look to set the record for the world's largest swimming lesson. Cape Splash is participating.
