19 year old shot on Ellis St. in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Police in Cape Girardeau responded to reports of a shooting near the 500 block of Ellis Street at around 1:27 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17.

Police say the victim was shot through the upper leg near the 500 block of Ellis Street.

The 19-year-old victim then ran one block over to a home on South Sprigg Street, where police found him and loaded him into an ambulance. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, the victim said he was in the 500 block of Ellis Street when he heard gunshots and was struck in the leg. He said he then went to his friend's house on South Sprigg St. where police found him.

The victim said he was unable to provide any suspect information and just heard the shots.

No suspects have been taken into custody at this time.

    Illinois State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-64 in Jefferson County, Ill. on Aug. 13. According to ISP, Rita Humphrey, 62, of Paducah, Ky. was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-64. Humphrey continued until she hit a vehicle driven by Warren Wildman, 81, of Shoals, Ind. hitting the driver's front corner of the vehicle. Humphrey came to rest on the inside guardrail and Wildman hit the outside guardrail, coming to a rest in the right lane. Download the KFVS...
