2 charged in connection to Carbondale weapons investigation

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Two Carbondale, Illinois men have been charged in connection with a weapons investigation.

Shorron Chmabers, 24, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a weapon without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card.

Derrick Farmer, 24, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

According to Carbondale police, on June 13 at 2:30 a.m. they responded to the 800 block of East Grand Avenue in reference to a complaint of someone with a handgun.

Officers learned the person pointed a handgun in the direction of a large group of people.

Police say they stopped the person, identified as Chambers, in a vehicle that was leaving the area. They say the driver of the vehicle, identified as Farmer, along with Chambers were arrested after two guns were found in the vehicle.

Chambers was taken to the Jackson County Jail and Farmer was released on cash bond.

The investigation is ongoing.

    Dyersburg Police arrested two men after responding to shots fired on Wednesday, February 21. At 10:30 a.m., Dyersburg Police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Fowlkes Avenue and Tucker Street. A man was reportedly seen in the street firing a gun at a passing vehicle.
