ISP: 2 injured in DUI crash on Rte. 13

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Illinois State Police say impaired driving and failure to yield caused a crash on Route 13 at Moellers Road in Williamson County, Illinois on Monday, June 15.

According to ISP, a green 2005 Chevrolet C4500 pickup pulling a horse trailer was going eastbound on Route 13 approaching Moellers Road. Justin Adkisson, 36, of Galatia, Ill., was driving the truck.

They say a tan 2005 Chevrolet Suburban driven by James Frick, 40, of Herrin, Ill., was going westbound on Route 13 approaching Moellers Road.

Police say Adkisson tried to make a left-hand turn onto Moellers Road and drove into the path of Frick.

Both drivers were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

According to police, Adkisson was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol,unlawful possession of cannabis, failure to yield while turning left and failure to wear a seat belt.
