2 Paducah residents accused of altering prescription

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Two people from Mayfield, Kentucky were arrested on Monday morning for allegedly trying to pass an altered prescription at an area pharmacy.

Sandra May, 55, was arrested on a warrant for forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance first offense

Bobby Fox, 65, was arrested on a warrant for forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance first offense.

According to Paducah police, they were contacted by the pharmacy in late April about a prescription they had received that appeared to have been altered.

The pharmacist said the drug strength appeared to have been written over, changing the milligrams from five to seven.

Police say the pharmacist verified the alteration with the physician.

A McCracken County grand jury returned an indictment charging Fox and May with forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance.

Both were arrested around 10:30 a.m. on Monday and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
