The Williamson County, Illinois Sheriff's Office  reports a sex offender is back in custody.

According to the sheriff's office, Devin R. Laminack, 19, is a registered sex offender who was no longer living at his registered address.

They say he was last seen on May 11.

The sheriff's office asked for help locating Laminack just before 3 p.m. on Monday, June 15.

Laminack reportedly turned himself in at the sheriff's office around 5:15 that evening.

Sheriff Bennie Vick said attention from the media and public helped encourage Laminack to return to the sheriff's office.

He was convicted in July 2014 for criminal sexual abuse/person under 17.
