Deputies: Car rear ends large forklift on Hwy. 4 in Campbell Hill

CAMPBELL HILL, IL (KFVS) -

One person was injured in a crash involving a forklift on June 11 in Campbell Hill, Illinois.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, officers responded to a report of a crash on Highway 4, just northwest of Rock Crusher Road, at around 4:34 p.m.

While en route to the scene, deputies say they learned the crash involved a car and a large forklift.

Deputies say Denise Reiss, 58, of Steeleville, Ill., was driving a Chevrolet Equinox, and rear ended a Gehl Al-730 forklift driven by Ernest Schlabach, 17, of Campbell Hill, Ill.

They say Schlabach was turning right into a private yard off of Highway 4 at the time.

Reiss was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Schlabach was not injured.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Jackson County Ambulance Service and Campbell Hill fire and first responders.
