SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

The Sikeston, Missouri Department of Public Safety is investigating two shootings over the weekend.

On June 13 at around 12:26 a.m., officers were in the area of The Man's Kitchen on West Malone monitoring a large crowd at a party.

While there, they say they heard gunshots coming from the parking lot of the business.

At around the time they were investigating the gunshots, DPS said they received reports from Missouri Delta Medical Center that a 27-year-old man had been brought in with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say it was determined this was connected to the shooting on West Malone.

They say the man was later air lifted to a St. Louis hospital in serious, but stable, condition.

On June 13 at around 11:22 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area near the intersection of Branum and Lora Streets in Sikeston.

Officers say they heard multiple gunshots in the area and immediately after, a vehicle was seen speeding from the area with damage that appeared to have been caused from gunshots.

The vehicle was stopped and officers say the 21-year-old driver had a gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to a Sikeston hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

During the investigation, DPS said it was determined that the shooting happened near the intersection of William and Lanning Streets.

Police are looking for information in reference to these shootings. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sikeston DPS at 573-471-4711.
