CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - On June 13, Cape Girardeau Police reportedly arrested two people in connection to a shooting in Charleston earlier in the week.

Lamarcus Williams, 18, and Jadarius McCain, 19, both of Charleston, were arrested in Cape Girardeau approximately four days after the shooting.

On June 9 at about 3:30 p.m., the Charleston Department of Public Safety received a call of a person shot in the 400 block of Walhausen Street.

Officers found Jevon Betts, 18 of Charleston had been shot several times.

He was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, the two suspects were identified.

Warrants were issued for the suspects on the afternoon of June 10.

Area law enforcement agencies were notified and officers began searching for them.

Both Williams and McCain are currently in the Mississippi County Jail.

They are being held on charges of assault, armed criminal action and property damage with a $250,000 cash only bond.

The victim, Jevon Betts, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
