Metropolis, IL woman accused of hitting man with window pane

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) -

A Metropolis, Illinois woman is accused of hitting a man over the head with a window pane, then hitting two officers who tried to arrest her.

Ronda E. Richardson, 47, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery.

According to police, they responded with the ambulance to a medical call at a home in the 500 block of W. 4th Street on May 17.

When the arrived, they say they were met by a man who was bleeding profusely from cuts to his head and arms. Witnesses say he had been hit by a woman identified as Richardson, who also lived at the home.

Richardson allegedly hit the man over the head with a window pane. Due to his injuries, he had to be taken to an area hospital and had to be taken to surgery.

Police say Richardson barricaded herself in the home and refused to come out. They got a search warrant and an arrest warrant for her.

Richardson also allegedly hit two of the officers who were arresting her.

She was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
