A Murray woman says she used hairspray to defend herself from an attack by a man she met online.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to 801 Cardinal Point on Monday, May 11 just after midnight because of a call of a female screaming for help.

Once on the scene deputies found that Aimee Younger had blood on her head.

Younger told officials that Khalid A. Ahmed, a man she said she met online about a week earlier, had hit her several times in the head with a set of keys.

She said she locked herself in the bathroom to get away from Ahmed and that he had at one point went into the kitchen and got a knife. Younger said Ahmed then threatened to kill her.

That's when Younger says she sprayed hairspray in Ahmed's face so she could get away from him and then ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Deputies say Younger was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ahmed was charged with first-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
