CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman says she was attacked by a man she met online.

Khalid A. Ahmed was charged with first degree assault, first degree unlawful imprisonment, first degree wanton endangerment, third degree terroristic threatening and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the sheriff's office, on May 11 at 12:05 a.m., a deputy and officers with the Murray Police Department responded to the Cardinal Point Apartments in reference to a woman screaming for help.

When they arrived, they say they found a woman with blood on her head.

She told the deputy that she met the suspect about a week ago on a website. She said the suspect, Ahmed, hit her several times in the head with a set of keys.

The woman said she locked herself in the bathroom to get away from him.

Ahmed then allegedly went to the kitchen and got a knife and told her he was going to kill her.

The woman said she sprayed hair spray in Ahmed's face to get away from him. She then ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Ahmed was arrested and taken to the Calloway  County Detention Center.

The woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
