1 sent to hospital after crash on IL 13

CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

Traffic was down to one lane on IL 13, just east of Division Street and just west of 148/13 junction in Carterville, Illinois after a crash.

As of 7:40 p.m., emergency crews were still on scene cleaning up and eastbound traffic on IL 13 was down to one lane.

Officers estimated the scene will be cleared within the hour.

Police arrived on scene around 7 p.m. where two vehicles crashed while trying to avoid a small tractor that was traveling in the right lane.

One driver was taken to a Carbondale hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was cited for failure to reduce speed.
