The Ninth Annual National Association of Letter Carriers' "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive will take place Saturday, May 9, 2015 and you can contribute without leaving your driveway.

You might have received a plastic bag in your mailbox from the food drive, asking you to contribute. However, you can still donate even without the bag.

All you have to do is leave a sturdy sack of non-perishable food items by your mailbox before your letter carrier arrives on May 9.

Your items should be picked up as your mail is dropped off, but if your donation is somehow missed you can also leave your donation out again on Monday, May 11.

Donations can also be left at your local post office.

According to nalc.org, their food drive is the largest single-day food drive and is held every year in 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.

Carriers then take the food to local food banks, pantries or shelters, including many affiliated with Feeding America.
