Paducah man cited after crash

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah, Kentucky man was cited for DUI after a crash on Oaks Road Thursday night, May 7.

Jeffrey Driver, 52, was cited for DUI first aggravated circumstances, third degree criminal mischief times two and failure of owner to maintain insurance on a motor vehicle.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at around 8:03 p.m. deputies received a call for an injury crash where the driver was partially ejected and trapped under the vehicle.

Deputies say Driver was going southbound on Oaks Road in his 1997 Chevy Blazer.

For unknown reasons, they say driver left the left side of the road, drove through a yard and hit two mailboxes. Deputies say he then re-entered the road, overturning his vehicle and came to a rest on the right side of the road.

According to the sheriff's department, Driver was partially ejected through the driver's side window and was partially trapped under the vehicle.

Reidland Fire and Mercy EMS responded and freed Driver from the vehicle. He was then taken to a Paducah hospital.

According to deputies, they followed up with Driver and he was conscious and alert. They say he only complained of minor pain.

Deputies say Driver stayed at the hospital for his injuries.
