EDWARDSILLE, IL (KFVS) -

In the longest game in Ohio Valley Conference tournament history, Southeast Missouri softball, lost a heartbreaker to Eastern Illinois, 10-9.

The game ended on a walk-off home run in 12 innings in an elimination game.

The loss ends the Redhawks season at 19-27. They lost to Jacksonville State 21-0 in their first game, May 6.

Eastern Illinois' Hannah Cole hit the walk-off home run for the Panthers.

Alexis Anderson led Southeast Missouri with four hits, including her second home run of the season.

Anderson drove in a team-best three runs. Riley Hayes also homered for the Redhawks.

Playing in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament for the first time since 2011, the Redhawks twice held six-run leads in the game but could not keep it.

Surpassing their win total from a season ago and playing in the conference tournament should add an extra boost for the future.
