Poplar Bluff woman killed in crash in Jefferson Co.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Poplar Bluff woman was killed in a crash in Jefferson County on May 5.

Stacy L. Swisher, 37, of Poplar Bluff was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old driver.

A Freightliner was traveling northbound on US 67 and a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound on Montauk Dr. 

The driver of the Santa Fe tried to cross the northbound lanes of US 67 and drove into the path of the Freightliner, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The truck hit the side of the Santa Fe.

Swisher was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Santa Fe and a 44-year-old passenger had serious injuries. They were both wearing seatbelts.
