Major case squad activated after homicide of missing SIUE student

HAZELWOOD, MO (KFVS) -

The body of a missing Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student has been found at a truck driver training center in Hazelwood.

Taylor Clark, 19, has been missing since Monday after taking one of his final exams. He was trying to sell his car on Craigslist.

His car was found Tuesday evening in Hazelwood in a trucking parking lot.

A body was later found 400 yards away from his car.

Police are investigating this as a homicide and the major case squad has been activated, according to Captain Tim Fagan with the Florissant Police Department and a deputy commander of the major case squad.

Police are not releasing the cause of death.

Police say by all accounts Clark was a good young man, a quality person, and a college student who fell victim to a tragic event.

No suspects are in custody. Police are working a number of active leads.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 314-513-5225.

A memorial page for Clark has been set up on Facebook.
