BENTON, MO (KFVS) - Get your gardening tools out. The time to plant is now.

Due to a cold start for 2015, the right time for planting a garden has been delayed. Now that time has arrived.

Unlike previous years of record flooding, record droughts and late cold snaps, the Spring of 2015 is looking like prime weather for planting.

We drove by several orchards and gardening businesses to see many people out shopping.

Diebold Orchards in Benton, Missouri was packed with people buying flowers, plants, garden supplies and more. People were filling up shopping carts right and left.

Paula Diebold, owner of Diebold Orchards, says it has been gorgeous weather lately and people are taking advantage and planting now.

Due to the cool start and early rain this year, cole plants such as cabbage have been delayed.

However, they are primed to plant now. For the most part, Diebold says everything is ready to plant right now.

Diebold says sales have been drastically more compared to previous years at this time.

She says if the weather remains this nice throughout the Spring that sales will be at their highest in a very long time.
