2 injured after deer jumps in front of motorcycle

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says two people were sent to the hospital after a motorcycle hit a deer on Friday night.

According to deputies, at around 8:40 p.m. they were dispatched to the intersection of North Friendship Road and Woodbine for a motorcycle crash involving a deer.

They say Gary Miller, of Paducah, Ky., was driving on North Friendship Road when a deer jumped out in front of him.

Miller tried to avoid the crash, but deputies say he was unable to keep from hitting the deer.

According to deputies, Miller lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to turn over.

Deputies say Laura Miller, also of Paducah, was a passenger on the motorcycle and was also thrown from it.

They say both were wearing their helmets and had minor injuries.

They were taken to an area hospital by ambulance.

Deputies were assisted by the Concord Fire Department.
