3 facing charges for property damage in Murphysboro

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Three men have been charged in relation to several reports of damage to property in Murphysboro in the months of March and April.

According to Murphysboro police, between March 10 and April 30, the police department received more than 20 reports of criminal damage to property throughout the city.

The report showed that windows of businesses and vehicles were broken out at each location, possibly with a BB gun.

During the investigation, officers say they learned that several people were driving a vehicle around the city and discharging a BB gun and throwing other objects at windows.

On Thursday, April 30, just before 4:30 p.m., the first suspect in the property damage was taken into custody.

Tyler Mifflin, 18, was charged with criminal damage to property, posted a cash bond and was released.

Officers then took 21-year-old Larry Recar into custody around 9:30 p.m. 

Recar was charged with criminal damage to property, $500 to $10,000. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Then around 11:40 p.m., officers took 28-year-old Jeffory Eason into custody and charged him with criminal property damage, $500 to $10,000. 

He was also taken to the Jackson County Jail.
