Firefighters rescue ducklings from storm drain

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department pulled off a sweet rescue on Thursday evening, April 30.

According to Master Firefighter Steve Mirly with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, someone with Southeast Hospital called because they found the ducklings stuck in a storm drain.

Police responded, but didn't they didn't have the equipment to raise the grate, so they called the fire department.

Firefighters raised the grate, pushed the babies into a box and reunited them with their mom and dad.
