4 injured after wreck involving KY funeral procession

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Police say four people were injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision involving members of a funeral procession.

James Long, 84, of Paducah, Kentucky told police he was turning left from Lone Oak Road onto Jack Paxton Drive, heading toward U.S. 62, and did not see an oncoming vehicle.

Long's car hit a Hyundai driven south in the outside lane of Lone Oak Road by Robert D. Robinson, 63, of Paducah.

Robinson said his traffic light was red, but he proceeded into the intersection because he was part of a funeral procession.

Officer Ryan Burrow said the hazard lights on Robinson's car were blinking and a funeral flag was on the roof.

Long, Robinson, and two passengers in Robinson's vehicle were taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
