SIU police searching for third suspect in Lawson Hall incident

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The Southern Illinois University Department of Public Safety is searching for a third suspect in the Lawson Hall incident that took place on April 17.

According to the department, a 24-year-old man was battered by three men outside a room in Lawson Hall that evening.

Two suspects have been identified and arrested.

Abdoulaye Pape Sow, an SIU student at the time of the incident, has been served an Interim Separation Letter and police say he is banned from campus.

Police ask if you see him on campus to contact them immediately.

Sow is facing charges for aggravated battery in a public place.

Martell Scott, 24, is also facing aggravated battery charges and was charged with mob action.

Police are still looking for a third suspect.
