MO officer hit by truck during traffic stop

OSAGE BEACH, MO (KFVS) -

An Osage Beach, Missouri officer was hit while making a traffic stop on Thursday morning, April 30.

According to the Osage Beach Police Department, Austin White, 27, was making a traffic stop around 6:15 a.m. at the east end of the eastbound side of Grand Glaize Bridge.

They say he was hit by a blue GMC pickup driven by a 58-year-old Osage Beach man.

According to police, the GMC truck hit an Osage Beach patrol car, hit Officer White and then hit a white 2002 Ford Ranger.

Police say passing drivers helped White, who was critically injured.

White was taken to the Grand Glaize Airport where he was flown to the University of Missouri Trauma Center.

Police say the last they heard, White had regained consciousness.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
