Johnson County man to serve 6 1/2 years for meth charges

BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

A Johnson County, Illinois man has been sentenced on meth-related charges.

That according to Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.

Robert D. Brewer, 49, of Vienna, Illinois was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison.

That is to be followed by three years of supervised release, and he was fined $300.

Brewer had previously pleaded guilty to six counts in a federal indictment.

Brewer was charged with possession of pseudoephedrine knowing it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.

The investigation was conducted by the Illinois State Police and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney George Norwood.
