COBDEN, IL (KFVS) -

Highway 51 south near Cobden is open after a semi truck overturned.

It happened south of Vines Road on Hwy. 51.

A semi truck hauling pot ash, another semi and a van were involved in the crash.

One semi ran off the road and tipped over.

One person was airlifted from the scene. No word on the extent of the injuries.

According to Illinois State Police, the van was going southbound on U.S. 51, south of John Rich School Road.

They say the two semis were going northbound when the van hit the rear axle of the first semi, lost control and hit the left side of the second semi's trailer.

Police say the second semi then lost control and ran off the road to the east side of U.S. 51 and overturned.

The investigation is ongoing.
