Book to blame for MO crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -  Distracted driving is to blame for a crash in Washington County, Mo. Tuesday morning.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Christopher Sedlacek of Potosi drove off the left side of  Route C, about a half a mile before Carfield Lane, and crashed into a tree just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Sedlacek's passenger, 33-year-old David Chadd of Park Valley, Mo. was taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

Sedlacek was not hurt and troopers say both men were wearing a seat belts.

According to the trooper's report state that Sedlacek was distracted with a book just before he crashed into the tree.

His 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis was totaled in the crash.
