POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Poplar Bluff Junior High School Jazz Band recently competed at the Mineral Area Jazz Festival in Park Hills, bringing home multiple team and individual awards.

Long-time director Gary Garner said that the band's level of expertise when it comes to improvisation—which he described as “true jazz”—is highly impressive for such young students.
