PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A woman was taken to jail and a man taken to a hospital after a stabbing, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.

Laken N. Worley, 24, of Paducah faces assault 1st degree.

The sheriff's department was dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the 4200 block of Oaks Road shortly after 1:20 a.m. on Friday.

Robert J. Lanham, 30, of Marion, Kentucky was taken by personal vehicle to Baptist Health Emergency Room with a stab wound to his chest.

The preliminary investigation showed the alleged suspect Worley.

Worley was found at her home where the incident happened.

During an interview, Worley said she was using a knife to try to remove stereo speakers from the back of Lanham's vehicle.

Worley had given the speakers to Lanham as a gift.

After an alleged disagreement over the ownership of the speakers, authorities say Lanham attempted to remove Worley from his vehicle. During the struggle he was stabbed in the chest.

Lanham was being treated for serious injuries at Baptist Health Hospital.

Ms. Worley was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
